Dr. Carley Lionetto, DVM was born and raised in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lionetto received her Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2020. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Dr. Lionetto’s interests include herd health and reproduction, surgery, disease prevention, and comfort and pain management for cattle, small ruminants, and camelids. Dr. Lionetto is happy to be back home and serve the farmers of southeastern PA. When Dr. Lionetto isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with family, reading about sheep and cattle, taking care of her house plants, and long distance running.

Dr. Nick Kohut, DVM grew up in Pennsylvania and lived locally until the early 70's. He attended The Ohio State University achieving a B.S. in Animal Science and then his DVM in 1990. He worked for four years at another PA practice before coming to GVA in 1994 and became a co-owner in 1996. Outside of practice, Dr. Kohut is quite involved with judging Competitive Trail Rides and Equine Endurance Rides. When not involved with those sports, he is an active hunter and fisherman. In his leisure time, Dr. Kohut and his wife of 30 years Ranelle, can be found at their cabin along Penns Creek in Union county with their dogs Jax (Jack Russell mix) and Jiminey (Jack Russell Terrier).

Dr. R. Michael Weaver, DVM joined Gap Veterinary Associates in 2001 after graduating from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Weaver became a partner in the practice in 2011. In addition to cows, Mike enjoys biking local rail trails and traveling to National parks with his wife and two children.

Dr. Ellen Leitchy, DVM grew up on a dairy farm in southeast Iowa. Dr. Leitchy attended Louisiana State University where she earned her degree in 2020. Dr. Leitchy lives in Christiana with her husband Mitchell and her 4 cats. When not working with our clients at GVA, Dr. Leitchy enjoys gardening, cooking, embroidery, bird watching, and making candles.

Dr. Samuel Bennett, DVM graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada. Dr. Bennet has been working for Gap Veterinary Associates, Inc. since 2022 following a one-year internship at the University of Missouri, where he worked primarily with beef cattle and small ruminants in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. A native of Maine, Dr. Bennett specializes in sheep and goat work including vaccination, deworming, hoof trimming, sick animal exams, and pregnancy checks, as well as working with beef and dairy cattle, llamas, and alpacas. He lives in Intercourse, PA with his girlfriend and enjoys reading, writing, art, and traveling around the world.
